Thanks to Yiayia Irene and Yiayia Eugenia, these pastries are some of the best. Going to Yiayia's house meant melt-in-your-mouth kourambiethes, the tasty finikia, or the all-time favorite koulourakia that my kids called twisty cookies. These recipes were passed down from my mom to me and will continue being passed on for generations through my daughters. Baking is more than just throwing together ingredients. It is about sharing that love of baking (and eating) with my family.
